Why this travels

An FSSC clause reads the same in every country

FSSC 22000 is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative, which is why retailers and brand owners accept it across borders. The scheme is built on three international documents, and none of them change according to where your site sits:

  • ISO 22000:2018 provides the management system: context, leadership, planning, support, operation, evaluation and improvement.
  • ISO/TS 22002 series (and PAS 222 for feed) provides the prerequisite programmes for your specific category.
  • FSSC Version 7 additional requirements sit on top: food defence, food fraud mitigation, allergen management, environmental monitoring, quality culture and the rest.
  • Your certification body audits against those same three documents, whichever country it operates in.

Eight toolkits, one per food chain category

Each is written for a specific scope, so your team is not deleting irrelevant procedures before it can start. Every toolkit is a once-off purchase and arrives as editable files.

Straight answer

What a toolkit does, and what it does not do

A toolkit gives you the documented system: the manual, procedures, forms, registers and risk assessments an FSSC audit expects, already written and structured to the standard. That is usually the slowest and most expensive part of getting certified, and it is the part that is identical from one site to the next.

It does not implement itself. Someone at your site still has to make the documents true: fill in your process steps, your hazards, your suppliers, your monitoring records. And local food law, such as labelling rules, permits and notification requirements, stays local. FSSC certification and national food regulation are two separate obligations.

If you would rather not do the implementation alone, we work with teams remotely as well as on site.

Common questions

Buying from outside South Africa

Will a toolkit written in South Africa be accepted by my certification body?
The toolkit is written to FSSC 22000 Version 7, ISO 22000:2018 and the ISO/TS 22002 prerequisite standards. Those are international documents and your certification body audits against them directly. Nothing in the documented system is specific to South African law. Where national regulation applies, such as labelling or permits, you insert your own country’s requirements, and the templates are editable so that is straightforward.
What language and file formats do I get?
Everything is in English, as Microsoft Word documents and Excel workbooks. Nothing is a locked PDF, because a document you cannot edit is a document you cannot make true for your site.
How is it delivered, and how long does it take?
Digitally. There is no shipping, no customs and no physical product, so distance makes no difference to delivery.
Why are prices shown in rand?
We are a South African company and our prices are set in rand. The dollar figures on this page are an indication, converted at the current rate, so you can judge the cost before you get to checkout. The amount you actually pay is the rand amount.
Do I need one toolkit per site?
A toolkit is licensed for use by the buying organisation. If you operate several sites under one certification scope, one toolkit covers the documented system. Tell us your structure if you are unsure and we will confirm before you buy rather than after.
Can you help with implementation from another country?
Yes. Consulting and training are delivered remotely as well as on site, and the online courses that pair with each toolkit are self-paced, so time zones do not matter.

Tell us your category, we will confirm the right toolkit

Buying the wrong food chain category means documenting to the wrong prerequisite standard, which an auditor will find. A short message about what your site produces is enough for us to point you at the correct one.
