Being asked for GFSI by a retailer? Start here.
South Africa's major retailers, Woolworths, Pick n Pay, Shoprite and SPAR among them, ask own-brand suppliers for food safety evidence built on a GFSI-recognised programme, and the GFSI Global Markets Programme is the published route from basic hygiene to full certification (source: mygfsi.com). This plan is that programme, digitised.

ASCloud runs the GFSI Global Markets Programme for suppliers asked for GFSI by a retailer. Entry costs R1,820 per site per month and Intermediate, which adds a full HACCP plan to SANS 10330, R2,800, both excluding VAT with a R3,850 once-off setup and three named users. You move up to FSSC 22000 on the same records. Prices as at September 2026.
The escalation, explained
Entry covers the Global Markets basic requirements: hygiene, HACCP foundations, traceability basics, and the records your customer's auditor samples first. Intermediate adds the full HACCP plan to SANS 10330, supplier approvals, document control and internal checks. When your customer asks for full certification, you move on to FSSC 22000 certification and your records move with you.

Why plants pick this over a checklist app
A checklist app logs your fridge temperatures. A supplier programme audit asks for your hazard analysis, your supplier approvals, your corrective action verification and your training effectiveness. Those are programme requirements, and they are pre-loaded here, with an ASC consultant configuring them around your site in five working days.
Questions we get asked
Is the GFSI Global Markets Programme a certification?
No. It is a capacity-building programme with basic and intermediate levels that takes a supplier from basic hygiene towards a GFSI-recognised certification such as FSSC 22000 or BRCGS. Retailers use it to develop smaller suppliers. ASCloud loads its checklist as live records.
What do the Entry and Intermediate plans cost?
Entry is R1,820 and Intermediate R2,800 per site per month, excluding VAT, each with three named users and a once-off setup of R3,850. Intermediate adds a full HACCP plan to SANS 10330, supplier approvals, document control and the audit pack export.
What happens when the retailer asks for certification?
You move to the Certification plan on the same records, users and configuration. Nothing is re-implemented, and your history stays in the audit trail.
Can the traceability module be added?
Yes, from the Entry plan upwards, at R1,690 a month, for lot tracking from receiving to dispatch and timed mock recalls.
